Dual Language Immersion (DLI)

The District is pleased to announce that an improved language acquisition program was introduced this fall at Jamul Primary School.   The Jamul Primary Dual Language 50/50 (DLI 50/50) program will provide all students with content instruction in English 50% of the day and Spanish 50% of the day.  Beginning 2009-2010, the new Dual Language Immersion 50:50 model program will serve kindergarten and first grade students only.  The DLI 50/50 will be expanded by one grade level through 2012.  Research based Dual Language programs have been proven to be highly effective for students who are acquiring a second language.
