Jamul Preschool

The Jamul Preschool is a developmental preschool program for children ages 2 through TK. We adhere to the guidelines and standards given to us by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division.

Did you know that research on the development of the brain indicates that by the time children reach age three, their brains are twice as active as those of adults? Equally important are the ages of three through five, when children continue to acquire and practice new skills.

Our curriculum provides discovery through activities that foster the development of the whole self: social, emotional, creative, cognitive and physical. Positive learning experiences promote good self-esteem and build social skills.  Throughout the day the teaching staff guides and supports the learning experience by creating the environment, asking questions and observing. 

The daily routine incorporates self-select times, clean-up, snack, small and large group activities and teacher directed times. All of these promote the idea that children are active (and energetic) learners who learn best from play activities they plan and carry out themselves. 

We have a close connection with with Jamul Elementary school and the kindergarten teachers. Our four year old students have the opportunity to experience the same Learning Dynamics reading program being used in the kindergarten classrooms.

Above all our goal is for our students to discover the joy of learning.  We want them to love coming to school!  Childhood is such a short time; it should be valued and enjoyed!

We are now accepting enrollment applications.  Applications can be found at the Jamul District Office and on the district web-site below.

Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We are closed over weekly school vacations and the summer.
